When I graduated with a PhD from The University of Edinburgh on July 4th 2024, I had the immense honour of giving the graduation speech! It was an incredible moment to mark the end of my academic journey in Edinburgh.
At each graduation ceremony, one student is selected as the student orator to share their university experiences and hopes for the future. I was honoured to be chosen for this role, allowing me to address over 1,000 attendees in McEwan Hall.
It gave me the chance to reflect on how far we all had come and express gratitude to those who supported us along the way. Like I said in the speech, it’s all about those roots and wings!
